European Ultimate Championship Series

EUCF TOURNAMENT

The EUCFs is a three-day tournament, held no later than the third week in October. An open bidding process for the tournament will be held annually and will be awarded to the best bid. Excellent fields and good weather will be taken into consideration when the bid is being awarded.

The Open EUCFs is a 16-team tournament. The Women’s EUCFs is a 12-team tournament until the CSC determines the division is sufficiently competitive to expand into a 16-team tournament.

Seeding
2007 EUCF Seeding is based on the following criteria:

Seeds are distributed by region according to the previous EUCF or EUCC finish.
EUCR qualifiers are assigned EUCF bids based on their placement at their respective EUCRs.

Open: The winner of the NE 2007 EUCR will the EUCF’s number 1 seed. The winner of the W EUCR will be the EUCF’s number 2 seed and so forth.

Women: The winner of the W 2007 EUCR will be the EUCF’s number 1 seed. The 2nd place finisher in the W EUCR will be the EUCF’s number 2 seed and so forth.

Pool Draw
The tournament will be drawn after all the EUCRs have been completed. They will be drawn by an impartial CSC representative with an observer present. The CSC reserves the right to adjust pools to avoid regional match-ups during initial pool play. Pools will be drawn according to the following formula below:

Open:

Pot 1 - 1NE, 1W, 1CE, 2CE
Pot 2 - 1SW 2W, 2NE, 3NE
Pot 3 - 2SW, 3W, 3SW, 3CE
Pot 4 - 4SW, 4CE, 4NE, 4W

Women:

Pot 1 – 1W, 2W, 1CE
Pot 2 – 2CE, 3W, 1NE
Pot 3 – 1SW, 2SW, 4W
Pot 4 – 3CE, 2NE, 3NE

Tournament Format

Open:
4 pools of 4 teams. Pool play. Cross overs 2v3 and 4v4. Pool winners are rewarded with a bye. Upper pool plays quarters, semis, finals, lower pool plays round robin and placement game for final positioning.

Day 1 - pool play (3 games for all)
Day 2 - pre-quarter cross for all but pool winners (2v3 and 4v4) followed by quarterfinals and semi finals in the upper bracket and 2 games of lower pool play (2 games for pool winners, 3 games for rest)
Day 3 - Conclusion of lower bracket round robin, placement games (2 games for lower pool, 1 game for upper pool)
Total games - Pool Winners - 6, Upper Pool teams -7, Lower Pool teams - 8

All games are played to 15 points, win by 2 with a hard cap of 17 and time cap of 90 minutes.

Women:

4 pools of three teams. Pool play. Cross overs 1v1, 2v3. Teams 1-8 play quarters, semis, finals. Teams 9-12 play round robin for final placement.

Day 1 - Pool play (2 games for all)
Day 2 - pre-quarters cross games (1v1, 2v.3) followed by quarters and semis for teams 1-8 and two round robin for teams 9-12 (3 games for all)
Day 3 - Conclusion of round robin for teams 9-12, placement games for teams 1-8 (1 game for all)
Total Games - 6

All games are played to 15 points, win by 2 with a hard cap of 17 and time cap of 90 minutes.
