EUCS FAQ
General G1 What are
the minimum
requirements to join the EUCS? Any European Federation
recognized by the EFDF
can join the EUCS. If a minimum of 10 teams
participate to
the Qualifier (EUCQ), this nation has a minimum of 1 bid at the EUCR. A group of nations can join
together forming a
Section and play a unified Qualifier in order to fulfil the minimal
team number
for a Qualifier. G2 Which
event should be used as qualifier? The
European Ultimate Championship Series Committee (CSC) recommends using
the Nationals
or another tournament played during the current
season as the Qualifier
(EUCQ), but it is up to the national federations to decide how they
assign bids
to EUCR.
At National Championship there is normally the highest participation of teams and is already a well working system in most European Countries. Federations can also build a “Section” and run a larger EUCQ (single event or series), if the national championships are too small to be really competitive. If national championships are traditionally played during fall, an extra event, where most teams participate can be used as EUCQ. G3 Is there a minimum
number of bids a nation can have at EUCR? The EUCR bidding system guarantees a minimum of
1 bid only to nations/sections with at least 10 teams. See details under EUCR bid
Allocation.
E1 What is
the difference between the Eligibility Rules 2007 and the actual ones? The Rules
2007 had following problems:
E2 What is
the difference between a Team and a Club? A Team
is a group of players, who enter the EUCS under the same roster. A Club
is a group of players, who regularly train together and develop as a
group. Rosters
should be submitted to http://eucs.efdf.org/rosters/
prior to EUCQ. If this doesn’t happen, the national
federations must certify
that rosters presented after EUCQ respect the EUCS eligibility rules. E4 Can a
player play on 2 different Qualifiers? No,
because of rule 3.2 . E5 Can a
player who doesn't play at Qualifier be placed on the Roster? Sure! There is no regionality or club membership restriction for a EUCS Roster. The EUCS eligibility rules say that you have to
define your team before the EUCQ (qualifier, normally the national league)
and play there with that roster. if you haven't done it, the player's present
at qualifier define the team. If in your nation there is no 7v7 national
league on grass, which can be used as qualifier, than your nation is still
allowed to nominate one team, who qualifies for regional. A nation/section without a regular league is
not allowed to nominate more than one team. It must be clear that you won't be able to
qualify for the EUCF, though, since only teams in compliance with the
eligibility rules are allowed to play at this level. E7 Is there a limit
of players, who can be added to the roster and till when? Up to 5
players can be added prior EUCR to the rosters, which was presented before the
qualifier (or the first round of the qualifier series). E8 Is it possible to
get an exception of the eligibility rules and still be able to play at the EUCF the CSC does not allow any kind of exceptions
for the eligibility rules. If teamA did not qualify to
EUCR, then the player is no more rostered and can be added to the roster of any
other team, which qualified. No.
The Eligibility Rule 3.2. does not allow it. Otherwise the EUCR results
could be faked, being a team much larger and stronger than that one
which will play at the XEUCF.
E11: Is it possible to have guest players in our team roster? If you have already submitted a EUCS roster for this season
and the selection tournament for the EUCS has been already play, then, you can
just add 5 players to your list.
If you did not submit any roster yet, for example because you nation just uses the ranking from the previous year for the actual EUCS, you are free to define “who” your team is in the actual season as you prefer. It is not necessary that players on your roster, pay membership or live in your city. E12: We still have some uncertain players for our team roster. What should we do? Differently from a usual tournament roster, where you normally fill in all and only the players, who will participate, the EUCS roster is to define your team during the whole EUCS season,
so you should add all your available players, regardless if they
will play all EUCS tournaments or not. There is just a technical
limit of 50 players in the roster submission form.
